This was the very first marker that I searched for and found. It was the statt to my history project and im ending it with this marker because this was one of my favorite markers.

Discovery

I recently had a gallery walk in my class room and during this gallery walk that preaented posters on the history of Corpus Christi two of the many caught my eyes. The first one to catch my eye was the history of LBGT that is an organization that dates way back in Corpus Christi that still today is struggling with discrimination of gays today. The exhibit board made was very coloful and informative and intresting to know that today we have marches in support of gay marrige which I had never heard of tell now.Another exhibit board that caught my eye was the Orphanges of Corpus Christi becuase first I did not know we had orphanages here and that we have had more than one for a long time which was surprising to me. These orphanges are important to the history of Corpus Christi when it came to children been abandoned during the wars we fought in and children whos parents were unstable. I just discovered we had orphanages and theres one on staples. These two exhibt boards I picked were choosen on the fact that I had no prior knowledge on them.

This is me with the court house historical marker that relates to the Police Department because the people that were convicted of a crime went to the courthouse to get their case tried or pay off bonds.

The project was overall  fun learning things that I did not already know about the Corpus Police Department and of the other students projects. I got to collect a lot of information of the growth on the Police Department dating back to the 1800's to the Police Department today. It learned that with improvements the system of the Police Department got better.It was nice knowing that just because I ran into one obstacle I was able to overcome it with my back up plan.In refrence to others projects the student that did the thunder bird in it was intresting learning that it under went many changes and even changed its name and was located where now it is a fle market on lropard. That came to a shock to me that we had a drive in like that. Along with another student who did Bayfeast because they were a non profit organization that helped other organization's eithin the community not getting anything in return.They had a lot of famous entertainers preform. This was a part of history up until viloence was reacurring within and not enough money. So to conclude overall i learned a lot I didnt know of Corpus and Im glad I did.

The project was a wrap I am very glad I got ot all together with its information. Wooh the last touch ups I made were in class and its finally over

I just hit a rough patch while looking for information in the library on Selena Quintilian. The librarian informed me while I was look-in for the newspaper article on the death of Selena that it had been stolen , so now I had  to look through microfuse which was receive and took much time but in the end I was successful to find the article's on the film.

Wow ! While doing research I discovered that Corpus Christi had higher rate crimes that it did today.  IN comparing it to other cities.Are system was just learning how to get better.

Once again the police department like they do every year secure and protect the public from harm as they attend the annual buc parade.This is them blocking of the streets and making sure no violent activity is happening and that the event is to be remembered by the whole family . Thanks CCM for looking out for the people.

It's so dear and near to my heart that it was the first thing that came to mind which was criminal justice .I just love the concept and the idea so I thoughat what better to do research on .It just love knowing that the police department is our security blanket and one day I will be apart of that security protecting my community.The police Department is important to Corpus Christi because they protect our city and contains different departments within the department that keep people away from ever day harm. Without the protection of this department it's best to say living in fear.
